Fellow Kiwanians, distinguished guests, friends, and family,

It is with a profound sense of honour and humility that I stand before you tonight as we officially inaugurate the 41st Board of Directors of the Kiwanis Club of Johor Bahru. This evening is not just a celebration of new leadership, but a testament to the enduring spirit of service that has defined our Club for four remarkable decades.

My heartfelt gratitude goes to every member for your continued faith and support. The foundation upon which we build is one laid by our dedicated Past Presidents, whose vision and contributions have shaped our legacy. A special thanks to my Immediate Past President, Janice How, for her invaluable advice and steadfast guidance, which have been a true source of strength during this transition. On a personal note, I must thank a very special member, my mother, Madam Giam Lee Eng. Your lifelong dedication to helping others first taught me the meaning of service, and having you by my side in this Club is a blessing beyond words.

As we embark on this new term, we are guided by the powerful Kiwanis International motto: “Serving the Children of the World.” This mission is both our duty and our privilege. Nelson Mandela profoundly stated that “Children are our greatest treasure. They are our future.” These words resonate deeply with our work in Johor Bahru. Every project we undertake, every ringgit we raise, is an investment in this precious treasure, shaping a brighter, more hopeful future for the children in our community.

Together, with this dynamic new Board and our incredible membership, I am confident that our 41st year will be one of meaningful impact, growth, and shared purpose. Let us move forward with energy and commitment, united in service.
